Student powers

The popular item song of Munni Badnaam Hui from Dabangg had spelt trouble for many a munni (girl) in a prestigious school in the Chhattisgarh capital. School authorities were stunned recently when a group of girls came up on the stage soon after morning assembly and started performing the suggestive song. Not unexpectedly, the performers were suspended for the day. Later, it transpired that these students were forced to perform the song-and-dance sequence under pressure from senior students. But no senior student was suspended for ragging. The reason: they come from politically powerful and well-connected people in the state. That̢۪s no surprise since the schools was originally established to educate princes and princesses.
