KANPUR: The three expelled students of Government Polytechnic and their supporters created ruckus on the campus and ransacked furniture of the polytechnic situated on the GT Road on Thursday.

It may be noted that two months back, three students of government polytechnic were suspended by the authorities after they were found indulging in ragging.

The three identified as Vineet, Raghvendra Kumar Yadav and Virendra Kumar and their supporters reached the polytechnic in the morning and created ruckus. They demanded their re-instatement and threatened the staff of dire consequences.

Cops Kalyanpur, Nawabganj and Swaroop Nagar police stations came rushing in but by then the three escaped.

Chief proctor DK Rudra said that an FIR against the three students on charges of ragging two junior colleagues, was lodged with Nawabganj police two months. "Since then, they were trying to create pressure on us to withdraw the case. When we did not accept their pleas, they came today and ransacked the property," Rudra said.
